Decree No. 1267 of the Russian Government of 14 July 2022 "On the Annulment of Certain Acts and Certain Provisions of Acts of the Government of the Russian Federation" came into force on 15 July 2022.

The Decree rescinds Government Regulation No. 635-r of 16 March 2020 "On the Temporary Restriction of the Entry of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons into the Russian Federation and the Temporary Suspension of the Processing and Issue of Visas and Invitations" and a number of other Government Directives that were issued in response to the spread of coronavirus.

The annulment of these documents means that foreign citizens can now enter Russia via all crossing points on the Russian border, including land crossing points, according to the rules in force before the above directives came into force, i.e., on the basis of a valid Russia visa or without a visa where this is envisaged by the Russian law.

The requirement to provide a negative PCR test taken no earlier than 48 hours before the date of arrival in Russia remains in place.

The restrictions for Russian citizens to leave the country through all crossing points on the Russian border are also lifted.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will keep you informed of any further developments in the law.
