Marchello Gelashvili has been named Acting Managing Partner of B1 Group, succeeding Alexander Ivlev in that post. He was previously Deputy Managing Partner, EY Russia and CIS. The new appointment took effect when the firm separated from EY Global on 5 July 2022.

Marchello Gelashvili has over 25 years of professional experience. He joined Ernst & Young in 1993 and headed the firm’s CIS Financial Services from 2010 to 2018. As an assurance partner, he served a wide range of CIS clients in the banking and finance sector and on stock markets and assisted in managing clients’ assets in Russia and other countries. Marchello led audits and worked on a variety of projects in the areas of advisory services and corporate finance. For the last four years, Marchello has been Deputy Managing Partner, EY Russia and CIS.

Alexander Ivlev joined Ernst & Young in 1995 as Director for Marketing and Business Development and took over as Managing Partner of the Russian practice in 2009. Under his leadership, the firm took the lead in the Russian market and was repeatedly recognized as the most popular employer among students by Universum and Changellenge. For five years, the firm has topped the RAEX ranking (Expert RA) of leading assurance and consulting groups in Russia. Alexander will now focus his efforts on investment projects.
